As we approach the tail end of this year’s MILANTRACE project in partnership with , I wanted to share a few more photos and a little video, giving you a personal insight into our crazy week during Salone del Mobile and Milan Design Week while taking you behind the scenes of .

It’s been another busy year of Milan extravaganza for Tourismandhotels with our audience increasing by nearly 50% across 7 events in 4 cities around Australia. Your feedback has been truly incredible – we are so overwhelmed by everyone’s continued support for this ambitious project, and I feel so proud to have so many extraordinary people in attendance at our events around the country.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank the amazing Sydney-based fashion brand for dressing me so very beautifully for Milan Design Week and for the MILANTRACE 2018 talks. It has been an absolute dream to wear Lee’s beautiful clothes – I felt like a million bucks every day in Milan, and to top it off, I felt so comfortable despite our busy and varied daily schedule, which, to me, is key. Also, I was so very lucky to wear every single day – a superb Melbourne-based brand specialising in luxury handmade leather goods. Amanda is a very clever woman who knows what a busy, hard-working, globe-trotting woman needs during her travels, and I have relished the opportunity to wear A-ESQUE’s multiple accessories which, not only look incredible, are also superbly made, extremely functional and satisfy the most discerning amongst us.

It has been an absolute dream to be supported by, and equally to support two beautiful Australian brands in Milan, and to be asked about my clothes and handbags every single day, even get stopped for photos on the street and all that jazz. Anyway, I know this all probably sounds really self-indulgent and possibly a bit shallow (#FirstWorldProblems), and I certainly hope it doesn’t come across as being pig-headed because I definitely wasn’t raised to post photos of myself so publically and talk about fashion. And whilst Yellowtrace is not going to become a personal fashion blog any time soon, I do have to say how I looked this year has played a massive part in how good I felt, ultimately resulting in a better, more joyous MILANTRACE 2018 for everyone.

For all of you who couldn’t make it along to one of our events, I cannot wait to share a little wrap up of the talk series. Stay tuned for more soon, and in the meantime – I hope you enjoy this little segment.

Always,
Mama Yellowtrace x

That time our videographer Giacomo spontaneously busted out a piano solo at Istituto dei Ciechi (Milan’s Institute for the Blind). He was probably inspired by the extraordinary setting. I don’t blame him. And for the record – he can totally play the piano. Kudos. Photography © Nick Hughes/ Yellowtrace.

Saturdays at Fondazione Prada are a bad idea during Milan Design Week – the queues are long and crowds are vicious. But it’s still such an awesome place to visit. Photography © Nick Hughes/ Yellowtrace.

My first visit to Bar Basso during polite aperitivo hours. I’ve actually never been able to see the interior and take in the details before. Because late nights at this place are like being in the middle of a moshpit at a rock concert. Photography © Dana Tomic Hughes/ Yellowtrace.
